Edible Education Project
Funded by the National Lottery Awards for All fund
In 2019 our Edible Education project worked with 5 communities across rural Shetland, bringing together parents, community members, teachers and children to learn how to make their polytunnel work for their community. We ran training with teachers and parents to increase knowledge and confidence. Workshops were run with both primary and secondary pupils to demonstrate how to work with plants in the polytunnel.
“We’ve had great success with our growing this year, Transition Turriefield have given us confidence to do more and the children have had a great learning experience working in the tunnel” (Teacher, rural school)
